NCT checks are generally also covered. You don’t have to be mechanically minded to benefit from a car maintenance course, and you’ll find you save yourself a lot of hassle and money in the long run.
Courses vary from school to school, but a typical 10-week course covers the engine lubrication system (changing engine oil and the oil filter); the fuel system (changing air cleaner and fuel filter); the ignition system (removing and refitting spark plugs); the battery (checking for corrosion, service to battery, safety, etc); changing bulbs, fuses and other general electrics; checking tyre condition and pressure; checking brake fluid, pads and shoes; adding coolant and antifreeze; and safety while working.
These courses include essential learning for all car owners.
