Our schools run a very broad range of hobby classes and professional courses for adults. The best way to find up-to-date information on courses at each of our member schools is to link through to the school’s website via our homepage. However, for your convenience, we’ve included details here on popular courses running across our network, with links to some of the schools running those courses.
Almost every school in the network runs an Art class, a Computer course and a Cookery course. Pilates, Yoga, Pottery, Patchwork, Digital Photography, Music, Mindfulness, Genealogy, Pottery and Language classes are also popular.
Participants on the Sewing classes at Donahies Community School (Dublin) – which tend to be oversubscribed – produce an enviable quantity of fabric bags, dresses, quilts and soft toys (see their Facebook page for more images). Woodturning, Woodcarving, Woodwork and Metalwork classes have regained popularity over the past year or two, and the schools who run these courses often fill their classes long before term starts.
Cake Decorating and Sugar Craft participants, including those at www.psnadulted.ie , produce incredibly professional looking cakes after just one or two terms; and some go on to set up their own small cake-decorating business. Some of the more unusual courses offered include 3-D Decoupage (Coolmine Community School, Dublin), Blacksmithing (Gorey Community School) and DIY for Women (Ashton School, Cork).
