Woodcarving courses for adults, various locations
Woodcarving is one of the oldest crafts in the world. Wood is a cheap, lightweight material that can take very fine detail, which may explain the popularity of carving in the the decorative arts and customs of Africa, Ocenia, China, Japan and many other regions of the world. Woodcarving is relatively easy to learn, and with only some small pieces of wood and a few tools required, is a very inexpensive hobby to take up.
During a typical 10-week woodcarving course, you can expect to work through a project or two at your own pace. You will be guided through the process and pick up a range of carving skills along the way. Most classes cater for mixed ability participants, so you can benefit from the tutors guidance and create ever more ambitious projects each term.
