Evening classes in Woodworking, Furniture Making and Carpentry
Wood is a versatile material from which you can make a large range of items for your home and garden. Join a course this term and learn all the basic skills you need to complete small projects, including tables, mirror and picture frames, jewellery and trinket boxes, and much, much more. Once you have mastered the basic skills, you can take on bigger and more ambitious projects; the world is your oyster!
During a typical 10-week Workwork or Carpentry course, you should expect to learn the basic skills, from measuring and planing wood to cutting a range of joints and finally sanding and finishing the final product, as you complete a small project. During more atypical courses like the Creative Carpentry course at Gorey Community School, you'll use a variety of woodworking and upcycling skills as you make some unique items for your home.
