Join a Knitting course to learn the basics or improve your skills
Knitting is probably the most versatile and most widely practiced needlecrafts, and this once dying art is currently undergoing a revival, and is even becoming a popular cafe activity among the young and trendy.
Even if you held a pair of knitting needles since you were a child, you'll be surprised how quickly you'll master the basics. And once you know how to cast on and cast off, and can do play and purl stitches, you can make anything from scarves, hats and jumpers, to soft toys and blankets.
Most knitting classes cater for knitters of all levels, and even those who do not yet know about 'in, thread around, through and out' are welcome to join. Those who have already mastered the basics can advance their skills to include Aran stitches, knitting with three needles, lace knitting, and knitting with different types of yarn, as well as benefiting from the social aspects of a relaxed like-minded group.
