Join a creative writing course and start that book you've been talking about
Whether you're thinking about writing your first novel, are putting together your memoirs, write narrative non-fiction or just want to improve your short story writing skills, then you'll gain a lot from joining one of the creative writing courses running at our adult education centres. In addition to learning about plot, character, dialogue, point of view, genre and show don't tell, those joining an evening class will benefit from the feedback provided by their tutor and classmates, and the motivation that weekly classes provide.
Complete beginners are welcome, and you don't have to be a literary genius to join a writing class. Be prepared, however, to give and receive feedback, and to take on short writing tasks between classes.
