Ireland is packed with beautiful hills and mountains waiting to be explored, and with hillwalking an ever-growing activity among Irish adults, there's no better time to pick up the skills you need to explore the island's much varied landscape on foot!
During a typical course you will pick up the essential knowledge and skills to stay safe on the hills and mountains of Ireland. Most courses are a mix of in school classes, where you will learn how to read hill walking and Ordnance Survey maps, use a navigation compass, respect the weather and environment, and wear the correct footwear and clothing, and excursions to the hills which will include navigation challenges.
