Motorcar Maintenance classes for complete beginners
The Car Maintenance courses running at our member schools teach you about the routine service requirements of the modern Motor Vehicle, from lubrication and fuel to tyre checks, breaks and coolants, in a fun and relaxed environment. NCT checks are generally also covered. You don't have to be mechanically minded to benefit from a car maintenance course, and you'll find you save yourself a lot of hassle and money in the long run.
Courses vary from school to school, but a typical 10-week course covers the engine lubrication system (changing engine oil and the oil filter); the fuel system (changing air cleaner and fuel filter); the ignition system (removing and refitting spark plugs); the battery (checking for corrosion, service to battery, safety, etc); changing bulbs, fuses and other general electrics; checking tyre condition and pressure; checking brake fluid, pads and shoes; adding coolant and antifreeze; and safety while working.
These courses include essential learning for all car owners.
